Community living camp - (12/12/2022 to 16/12/2022)

         


A community living camp was organised under the auspicious of the Mar Theophilus Training College, Nalanchira as part of the academic program required for the completion of the B.ed degree course. The camp named "LESPOIR" themed around "Hope in community" was held from 2022 December 12 to 16.

INAUGURATION 
The camp was inaugurated by Y. Shibu, assistant commissioner of excise intelligence and investigation bureau, Kozhikode in the presence of the principal Dr. K. Y. Benedict Sir and camp co- ordinators.





DAY 1
    
  The events of the day organised by team Ikshana. Following the inauguration Shibu sir lead the first session of the camp. Where he talked on the topic " Appalling effects of narcotics." The second session of the day handled by Mr. Jith, officer from the Kerala fire and rescue department. After the second session game was done. The name of the game was Bombing the city. The concluding event of the day was the Ganamela.




DAY 2
 The events of the day organised by team Eleos. The first session of the day was a talk by Mr. Siddique. The resource person gave a brief idea on the topic related with contemporary issues. The afternoon session handled by Roshni ma'am. The class was oriented about the importance of wildlife protection. Evening a heartfelt movie was presented - the name of the movie was Sudani from Nigeria. 


DAY 3

The events of the day were organised by team Insaniyat. The first session of the day was named Arangukali. It was dealt by the resource person Mr. Bipin, research scholar and theatre activist. 

WOOD CARVING 

After lunch break a competition of wood carving in which team Ikshana consisting of Nimmy Joseph, Reshma and Arundhati emerged as the winners. The highlight of the day was cultural programs. The evening session was handled by the resource person Dr. Vaishakhan Thampi. Today concluded with beautiful one hour camp fire program.




DAY 4

Small trips always provides happiness and enjoyment to us for leading a good life. It was one of the main attraction of community living camp. The first destination of one day trip was national history museum and Zoological park. After that we went to Sagarika marine aquarium and Vizhinjam harbour. Next we move on to our final destination Kovalam beach. That was an amazing experience.




DAY 5
The events of the day were organised by team nanma. The session was on the topic ' Be the change' . The resource person was Shri. Brahmanayakan Mahadevan, founder and chairperson of special school. 

Valedictory function
The valedictory function of the community living camp LESPOIR started with a prayer. This was a bag of memories,filled with happiness, love and friendship for this we are greatly indebted to our principal Dr. K. Y . Benedict Sir and our camp coordinators. Bishop Joseph Mar Thomas delivering the felicitation address. The function ended with the National anthem around 2pm.

  Psychology club inauguration - AKAM           Day started with prayer in chapel. Today we had capaciy building programme and psychology exhibition as part of the B Ed curriculum. Also inauguration of psychology club AKAM takes place along with it. Our chief guest is Prakash Ramakrishnan sir, famous lifeskill trainer. Inaugural function starts at 10 am. After that we had the capacity building class by Prakash sir. Sir begins the class with famous poems, that was really interesting. Sir give beautifull explanation to the words like AHA, FAIL, SMILE etc. Final session deals with the major skills introduced by WHO. Afternoon we had exhibition in General hall. Students from St. Gorettis school also participated in this event. All of them makes this event more beautiful.
